Terms and Conditions

What the Customer should know at a glance

If you have any dietary requirements, please inform us when making your reservation.

Reservation Timings
Guests are kindly reminded all bookings are subject to a 2-hour seating allocation from the time of booking with the exception of the Private Dining where a limit of 2 hours 30 mins applies. Any additional time beyond this will incur a surcharge of £150 per hour, with a min of 1 hour charge.

Reconfirmation:
We will require a reconfirmation of your reservation and will contact you within the week of your booking. If you think you may be unavailable, please contact us on  We do reserve the right to cancel any booking that has not provided suitable confirmation upon request.

Cancellation Policy – Non-Special Events Days:
Credit card details are required to secure all reservations of any number of guests. A £10 deposit per person will apply upon booking and this will be deducted off the final bill. Please note deposits are non-refundable once confirmed through our partner Seven Rooms.

Seating Requests:
Varanasi will do its best to accommodate all seating requests, which are always noted at the time of the booking. We are unable to guarantee your request, however, as table allocations are finalised on the day.

Dress Code:
Guests are asked to wear smart casual attire in keeping with the relaxed sophistication of our dining room. Please refrain from wearing sports clothing or gym wear, including caps, sleeveless t-shirts & flip-flops. Should the manager find your attire not suitable, we reserve the right to request a clothing change. If this is not possible, we may request you rebook for another occasion.

Children:
Older children are welcome at Varanasi. Please ensure children are seated at the table and supervised at all times and do not disrupt other guests experience. At times when the restaurant is busy it may not be suitable for younger children and we therefore advise to book an earlier time slot.

Please Note:
Booking conditions
Those that are late by more than 15 minutes, will be asked to wait for the next available table and lose your booking deposit. In these circumstances your allocated 2 hour slot will be reduced by the delayed time period.

Group Bookings will be requested to pay 48 hours in advance for the set menu ( please refer to set menus online ). Drinks can be paid after the meal on the evening. Set menu options need to be discussed and agreed 24 hours in advance and applies to all tables of 7 or more.

Please note all deposits are non-refundable.

Guests are required to order a minimum of one main course per person, a cover charge may be applied at the restaurant’s discretion of £30 per head for guests who are not dining with us.

No loose table decorations, only balloons allowed.

Service Charge:
A discretionary 12.5% service charge is applied to all tables’ guests as a gratuity paid directly to staff.
